In a related development, a Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II also took fire during operations in the region. The pilot was able to eject and was later rescued near the Strait of Hormuz.

Situation Remains Fluid

Officials have not yet confirmed whether the F-15 was shot down or lost due to other causes. The Pentagon has released limited details as operations continue.

What Comes Next

The priority remains locating and recovering the missing weapons systems officer, as U.S. forces continue search efforts under dangerous and evolving conditions.

Further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
